New Life Homes 4

NewLife Homes 4 is the latest multi-family community development which includes 48 one and two-bedroom apartments, community building, gardens and recreation space.  Covered parking includes photovoltaic panels.  The design and layout of this project was modeled after Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Canyon with south facing units and stepped facades aligned along a sweeping curve.  NLH4 achieved LEED Platinum in December 2010.

Drawing on the strong physical and spiritual connections to Chaco Anasazi (ancient ones) and Native Americans, we modeled our contemporary design on these ideas and developments for a sustainable lifestyle today.

Sloping south sides, northern walls rising smoothly and abruptly like canyon walls, native sandstone, water catchments used for gardens and wetlands, the “Great House” and associated spaces with ceremonial and community roads connecting divergent developments - all of these elements are brought into play in this West Mesa development above the Rio Grande Valley.
